TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
Temporary Lane Closures of Eastbound Travel on
Carver Rams Way at the Piety Street Intersection
NEW ORLEANS - The City of New Orleans announced that beginning Thursday, July 2, 2026, the Department of Public Works (DPW) contractor Hard Rock Construction, will temporarily execute two lane closures to vehicular traffic for approximately 2 weeks. Crews will restore the inner lane, closer to the median, for one week and then flip construction to the outer lane the following week. Vehicular travel will be maintained around active construction. Crews will only be closing the lane in which active construction is ongoing. These lane closures are necessary to complete the essential roadway restoration of the intersection in accordance with the RR403 NOFOG Project.
As a part of the RR403 Project, crews will actively install new subsurface utilities along with roadway improvement throughout the area. Construction on this project is expected to continue through Fall 2028, weather permitting. During this time, repaving the asphalt roadway from curb-to-curb, repairing damaged sidewalks, installing ADA compliant curb ramps at intersections, and replacing damaged underground water, sewer and drainage lines construction will be underway.
Parking impacts are anticipated in the construction area. “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance, and motorists are encouraged to follow posted restrictions to help ensure a smooth and safe construction process. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
