NEW ORLEANS —Today, Mayor Helena Moreno announced Susannah Kirby as the Director of The City of New Orleans Office of Safety and Permits.
Susannah Kirby is a seasoned finance and operations executive with more than 15 years of experience leading largescale transformation across healthcare, higher education, and public sector organizations.
“New Orleanians deserve a Safety and Permits Office that works for everyone, and we’re expecting excellence,” Mayor Helena Moreno said. “Susannah Kirby’s experience overseeing a 150-member team at the Sewerage and Water Board, multimillion dollar financial operations and leading modernization initiatives will allow us to stop putting up barriers to new businesses in New Orleans and become a partner in their success and our own economic development.”
Previously, Kirby held leadership roles with Sodexo Live, Tulane University, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, consistently driving operational efficiency, strengthening financial performance, and enhancing organizational accountability.
“I am excited Susannah Kirby will lead Safety and Permits,” said Chief Administrative Officer, Joe Giarrusso. “We worked together when she was at Sewerage and Water Board. Susannah understands how to improve processes while simultaneously working closely with front-line employees. That is exactly what S&P needs right now.”
Susannah Kirby holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
