TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES OF CANAL BOULEVARD (CITY PARK AVENUE - FILLMORE AVENUE)

 

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works (DPW) announces that beginning the week of Sept. 22, there will be intermittent lane closures on Canal Boulevard in both directions from City Park Avenue to Filmore Avenue. These temporary lane closures will allow DPW contractor Hard Rock Construction Co. LLC. to complete concrete panel replacements as part of the DPW775: Right of Way Improvement Concrete Project. 

 

Local access will be maintained, and parking will be prohibited on blocks where crews are working. “No parking” signs will be posted in advance to notify residents and businesses. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the closure to avoid delays.

 

Safety is our top priority. Traffic control measures — including signage, cones, and fencing — will be in place to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. 

 

The DPW775: Right of Way Concrete Improvement Project includes concrete panel replacement, paving, and sidewalk repairs at various locations throughout the city. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional weekend work as needed.
