COMMUNITY UNITES FOR “KATRINA 20 DAY OF SERVICE” THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 23RD
NEW ORLEANS — Join us this Saturday for the Katrina 20 Day of Service, as volunteers, community leaders, City departments, and local organizations come together to honor New Orleans’ resilience and give back to the neighborhoods that continue to inspire strength, 20 years after Hurricane Katrina.
This cleanup effort will take place at Oliver Bush Playground (2500 Fats Domino Ave). This event is an opportunity for residents, community groups, and city leaders to come together in service, honor the lives impacted by the storm, and show continued commitment to the city’s renewal and resilience. On the day of the event, a designated cleanup will be hosted where volunteers can gather, pick up supplies, and participate in neighborhood beautification efforts. Activities will include trash pickup, minor landscaping, and painting. Join us as we reflect, serve, and invest in the future. Together, we can honor the past and build a cleaner, stronger New Orleans.
