NOPD Introduces New Festival Uniforms for 2025 Season

NEW ORLEANS — As we gear up for another exciting Jazz Fest and festival season, the New Orleans Police Department has new, festival uniforms (pictured) to help keep officers comfortable and visible while serving the community during outdoor events.
Festival-goers will notice some NOPD officers sporting new polo-style uniforms with bold, easy-to-spot color blocking. The new polos come in three distinct styles:
-
Yellow top with navy blue bottom – worn by Sergeants & Lieutenants
-
Bright blue top with navy blue bottom – worn by Officers
-
All white – worn by Captains, Majors and Deputy Superintendents
All polos will have:
- Authorized NOPD patches on both arms
- Authorized badge on the left chest
- Name tag on the right chest
- Reflective "POLICE" on the back of the shirt
These uniforms are designed for comfort in the warm festival weather. While the new festival uniforms will be visible throughout the season, they are optional—meaning you may still see some officers in the department’s standard uniform.
As always, NOPD encourages the public to stay aware of their surroundings and know what our officers look like, especially during large gatherings. If you see something, say something, so we can do something.
