NEW ORLEANS — Beginning Monday, April 21, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works contractor, RNGD Construction LLC, will temporarily close the 5700–6000 blocks of Cameron Boulevard to begin mill and overlay work as part of ongoing roadway restoration in the area. The closure is expected to remain in effect for two days, with the road reopening on or around April 22.
Detoured traffic will be rerouted from Cameron Boulevard to Allen Toussaint Boulevard.
Public safety is the City’s top priority. Signage and traffic control measures, including barricades, will be in place to guide drivers and pedestrians. Motorists are advised to use caution during this time, as road closures and detours will be in effect.
This temporary closure is part of the $34.1 million St. Anthony Group A (PMOPI) joint infrastructure project between the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. Once complete, the project will enhance residents’ quality of life by improving drainage, repairing streets, curbs and sidewalks, and installing new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2025.
