TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Magazine Street Closures for Resurfacing Project

NEW ORLEANS — On Thursday, Feb. 20, the Department of Public Works' contractor, Boh Bros. Construction Co., LLC, will begin implementing temporary lane closures on Magazine Street between Nashville Avenue and East Drive to mill and resurface the roadway, including both travel and parking lanes. Crews will generally work weekdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

 

One lane of traffic will remain open in the direction where work is not taking place. However, a full closure will be required for asphalt paving on Magazine Street between Nashville Avenue and State Street, scheduled from Monday, Feb. 24, through Tuesday, Feb. 25. All closures will be lifted at the end of each workday, allowing Magazine Street to reopen to traffic. The project is expected to conclude with roadway restriping on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Please note that the schedule, dates, and durations are subject to change due to weather or other conditions.

 

Public safety remains the City’s top priority. Parking will not be allowed on either side of the street during daytime construction but will be permitted at night. "No Parking/Tow-Away Zone" signs will be posted in active construction areas. Traffic control measures will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles safely around the construction zone.
