***UPDATED*** City of New Orleans Announces Changes to the MLK Event on Monday, January 20
NEW ORLEANS – Due to severe temperatures predicted by the National Weather Service, the City of New Orleans today announced that the 15th Annual R.E.A.L. March in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. scheduled for Monday, Jan.20, has been canceled. Out of an abundance of caution and safety concerns, the City's public safety and health leaders have recommended the cancelation of marches in Orleans Parish. That includes all marching bands, auxiliary groups, and parade vehicles. City leaders will host a small recognition at the MLK monument on S. Claiborne Ave. on Monday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m.
