NORD is proud to announce Lemahj Legarde as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Lemahj, 12 years old, plays running back and corner back for the Harrell Rams. scored 4 touchdowns, including a 65 yard kickoff return, to lead the Harrell Rams over the previously undefeated Bodenger Jaguars in a tough 12u Division matchup. As a 8th grader at Laurel Middle School, Lemahj also participates in basketball. His favorite athlete is Odell Beckham. Congratulations to Lemahj for his outstanding performance and contributions on the field. We look forward to continuing to celebrate the achievements of more talented young athletes throughout the season. CONGRATULATIONS to two of our talented young athletes form SPARTAN BOXING CLUB, a proud partner, that trains at our Milne Rec Center, were recognized last week at the New Orleans City Council for their participation in the 2024 USA Women's Boxing Championship Tournament. The athletes, Daneia Mitchell and Sydni Johnson, continue to make strides in both athletics and academics, showcasing the positive impact of this partnership on our city's youth!
