Homicide Investigation
New Orleans - New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide by shooting.
According to investigators, shortly before 2:45 a.m. today (09/01/2024) police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of South Solomen and Baudin Streets. On arrival, responding officers found four (4) female victims suffering from gunshot wounds. A fifth victim, reportedly age 29, had already been transported to hospital via private conveyance. That victim later died from her wounds. The other victims were treated on scene by New Orleans EMS and did not require transportation to hospital.
Reportedly, two parties were involved in a physical altercation at a business located at in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue. After the altercation, the victim group was leaving the area in their vehicle when an unknown gunman opened fire on them. The vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant and flipped over at the intersection of South Solomon and Baudin Streets.
