NOPD Releases 2023 Annual Crime Statistic Comparisons
NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD today (January 3, 2024) released data regarding comparisons of 2023 crime data to that of past years. This data is sourced from NOPD’s electronic police reports, with the latest incident date being December 31, 2023.
As seen in the below chart (click image for larger view), the 2023 overall crime figures for both persons and property crimes are compared to the same figures from 2022 (see left chart). The 2023 stats are also compared to a three-year average of statistics (2020, 2021 and 2022) in the same categories (see right chart).
Please note that these figures are preliminary and subject to change pending further analysis and revision.
