Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office Now Accepting Applications for Neighborhood Enrichment Grants

Neighborhood Enrichment Grant

NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office (NEO) today announced it is now accepting applications for Neighborhood Enrichment Grants to help bring green infrastructure and beautification to New Orleans neighborhoods.

The Neighborhood Enrichment Grant is designed to encourage residents to engage with their neighborhood by way of developing a beautification or “Green Infrastructure” project as a community. NEO encourages residents, organizations and community leaders to work together in an ongoing effort to maintain pride in their community and global well-being. Grantees will be awarded between $5,000 - $7,500.

Applicants must meet each of the following criteria:

  • Be a member of any formal or informal neighborhood/community association
  • Be a resident of Orleans Parish
  • 18 years of age or older
  • 501(c)(3) designation (for formal associations) or Federal tax ID number (for informal association)

To be considered for the grant, proposed projects should be feasible, inclusive and open to every resident in the neighborhood. Applications should include realistic project goals and a budget, explaining specifically what the project will do, what it might cost and what it will do for the benefit of the entire neighborhood, as well as a component focused on green infrastructure, such as tree planting, rain barrel installation, etc.

Once the grantees are selected, they will then participate in a grant orientation and work with NEO on next steps.

The application deadline is Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at 5 p.m
