TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Neutral Ground Crossing Closure on Clara Street at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans today announced that beginning today, July 31, Department of Public Works (DPW), in coordination with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), will be restricting vehicle access crossing the neutral ground on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Clara Street.
This neutral ground crossing will remain closed to vehicular traffic while crews work to address the pavement in the neutral ground crossing. Motorists are advised to use caution during this time, as this closure is expected to last approximately six weeks (see map).
Public safety is our top priority; signage and traffic control measures, such as barrels and fencing, will be onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.
Since May 2018, DPW has completed 164 projects with an estimated value of $626 million. Today, 54 roadwork projects are under construction with an estimated value of nearly $659 million.
