City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation to Partner with The Green Project to Host Annual Paint Reclamation Project

Paint Reclamation Project

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation today announced it will partner with The Green Project to host its annual Paint Reclamation Project from Tuesday, May 23 through Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Recycling Drop-Off Center (2829 Elysian Fields Ave.).

During the City’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Materials Collection Day on Saturday, May 13, residents dropped off a significant amount of paint. The Paint Reclamation Project diverts usable paint from disposal; provides residents with usable paint, free of charge; offers New Orleans residents a way to recycle household hazardous waste; and protects our environment.

The Department of Sanitation partners with The Green Project to make usable water-based and oil-based paint available for the community to pick up for free.
