Mayor’s Office of Communications Issues Statement on City of New Orleans: 2022 Recap Brochure

NEW ORLEANS — The Mayor’s Office of Communications today issued the following statement on the distribution of the City of New Orleans: 2022 Recap brochure:

“Similar to her predecessors, Mayor LaToya Cantrell has an obligation to communicate with residents of this city," said Gregory Joseph, Director of Communications. "In fact, this administration has consistently communicated with the public about the results and progress the City of New Orleans is delivering and achieving. With the 2023 Budget and the American Rescue Plan funding being finalized almost simultaneously, the Administration felt an update on how and where this vital funding would be spent was appropriate. The ‘City of New Orleans: 2022 Recap’ provides that update in addition to outlining the progress that various City departments have demonstrated in the areas of infrastructure, public safety, and our economy.

The ‘City of New Orleans: 2022 Recap’ was mailed to 106,633 of our fellow New Orleanians who actively participate in our local democracy. The brochure was produced and printed at a cost of $18,322.95, and the postage totaled $32,623.07.

Through our weekly COVID-19 updates during the height of the pandemic and public-facing online dashboard, to our public safety townhalls, Roll Calls with the New Orleans Police Department, to our weekly press briefings, direct and transparent communication is what our people demand, deserve and what we intend to continue to deliver.”
