CITY OF NEW ORLEANS ANNOUNCES 2023 PROPERTY TAX BILLS ARE AVAILABLE 

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Bureau of Treasury today announced that property tax bills are now available. Residents have access to tax bills online at www.nola.gov and should receive them in the mail. Homeowners will have until January 31, 2023, to submit tax bill payments before interest accrues at 1 percent per month.

 

To make the payment process easier, the Bureau of Treasury offers several different ways tax payments can be processed.

 

Payment options:

  • Mailing payment with the scannable bill stub using the enclosed envelope
    • Accepted forms of payment are check, money order, and cashier’s check
  • Paying online at the City’s website www.nola.gov
    • No convenience fee is charged when processing a payment online using a checking account (E-check)
    • Credit or Debit card use is available; a 2.49% processing fee will be added
    • 24-hour access to process payment
    • Payment is posted effective the date you authorize your bank payment
    • Only payments of the entire tax bill are accepted at the web site
  • Curbside Drop Off is available Fri. Jan. 27, Mon. Jan. 30, and Tue. Jan. 31
    • Accepted forms of payment: check, money order, or cashier’s check (no cash)
    • Be sure to include the bill stub and indicate the property address and bill number
    • No receipt will be provided
  • Designated public libraries throughout the city will be stationed as quick-serve drop-off only locations on Fri. Jan. 27, Mon. Jan. 30, and Tues. Jan. 31. The following locations will serve as drop-off locations:   
    • East New Orleans Regional Library, 5641 Read Blvd.  
    • Norman Mayer Library, 3001 Gentilly Blvd.  
    • Mid-City Library, 4140 Canal St.  
    • Algiers Regional Library, 3014 Holiday Dr.

   

City of New Orleans employees will be available at each drop-off location from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Please submit sealed envelopes containing no more than three property tax stubs and payments. Cash will not be accepted, and receipts will not be provided.
