Local Artist Selected as Recipient of $25k Fundraiser for a One Year Sabbatical
Exodus Summit, a global organization that helps black women take a career break, selects visual artist Myesha Francis to be the recipient of a $25k fundraiser giveaway. The focus of the fundraiser is not only to help a black female artist spend one year focused solely on creating their art, but also to inspire others to begin decluttering their lives in order to begin their career break journey.
Myesha Francis is from New Orleans, LA and is a beloved visual artist, educator, and former gallery and studio owner in her community. She has personally taught and inspired thousands of children and adults in painting and multi-media arts classes through her business and through her work as an art educator. She currently has a work of art on permanent display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture highlighting the local New Orleans tradition of eating red beans and rice on Mondays.
The fundraiser is currently live through the month of December via Give Butter, a non profit fundraising platform.
