Traffic Advisory: Girod St. Closure Between O’Keefe Ave. and S. Rampart St. Continues through Jan. 31

Streatery Pilot

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works will continue the existing temporary closure to through traffic on the lake-bound side of Girod Street between O’Keefe Avenue and South Rampart Street through Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021. This closure is a part of the Office of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Office of Economic Development’s Outdoor Streateries Pilot Program.

Public safety is our priority; residents and commuters are reminded to adhere to all signage and barricaded areas. No parking zones, loading zones and residential access points will be impacted. Sanitation and deliveries will not be affected by this closure, as deliveries will occur on the Rampart Street side of the building through a private rear entrance into each business on this street front.

This Streatery pilot is developed in collaboration with the Downtown Development District and The Domain Companies to support local businesses while balancing public health initiatives during COVID-19. For more information on the program, please contact the Mayor's Office of Transportation at movingneworleans@nola.gov.
