One Week Left to Participate in Late Fee
Forgiveness Forgiveness Program
NEW ORLEANS – Mayor LaToya Cantrell, working with the Department of Finance, is reminding residents that they have one more week left to participate in the Amnesty Late Fee Forgiveness Program to help clear past-due accounts with parking and camera tickets, sales and hotel/motel taxes, code enforcement violations, and library fees. The three-month program expires on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 -- the day after Labor Day. The program expires at midnight later that evening.
“We appreciate the way our residents have stepped up and taken advantage of this opportunity to clear their outstanding accounts and get a little of their fair share in the process. We’ve seen impressive response across all four areas,” said Mayor Cantrell. “With the deadline coming, we don’t anyone to miss out.”
For one more week, residents are being allowed in certain circumstances to pay fees without penalties or additional fees in order to get a fresh start when paying for City services. While residents may take care of their accounts at City Hall during regular operating hours, they also can participate by phone or online.
