SAVE THE DATES! Meetings to Provide

Update on City's Bike Network Plans

NEW ORLEANS -- The Mayor's Office of Transportation, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, will share plans to create a city-wide, low-stress bikeway network as part of Moving New Orleans Bikes, an initiative to dramatically and rapidly expand safe, accessible biking and walking throughout New Orleans neighborhoods. Three meetings across New Orleans will provide residents the opportunity to learn more about the planned network:

WESTBANK MEETING

Wednesday, July 31

Algiers Regional Library, 3014 Holiday Drive

6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

EAST BANK MEETING

Monday, Aug. 5

East New Orleans Regional Library, 5641 Read Blvd.

6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

CITYWIDE MEETING

Thursday, Aug. 8

New Orleans Public Library (main branch), 219 Loyola Ave.

6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Moving New Orleans Bikes is part of a comprehensive effort to improve safety, connectivity, equity, and efficiency across all modes of transportation. Attendees at these meetings will learn which corridors are likely to undergo biking and walking improvements, the criteria used to determine where new and improved facilities will be located, and what residents said they want to see for improved biking and transportation in New Orleans from previous public meetings and an online survey/mapping tool open earlier this spring and summer.

Everyone interested in mobility in New Orleans is encouraged to attend.
