New Links Meetings Continue This Week to Re-Imagine

Pubic Transit Opportunities for Residents

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans' Office of Transportation tonight will continue to join the Regional Planning Commission (RPC), Regional Transit Authority (RTA) and other partners in the Complete Streets Coalition to engage residents on the New Links project to redesign ways to navigate the metro area by bus, streetcar and ferry.

This week's focus shifts to District C, with interactive public meetings scheduled for tonight at the Algiers Regional Library (3014 Holiday Drive) and Thursday at the New Orleans Jazz Foundation (1205 N. Rampart St.). Both of the meetings will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

New Links is a year-long project to study public transit connectivity in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes, with a goal to develop recommendations for a network redesign that will ultimately improve public transportation across all three parishes.

The City of New Orleans also will be represented by the Office of Neighborhood Engagement and NOLA Ready from New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. We also will be joined by Bike Easy, the City's partner on the Moving New Orleans Bikes initiative to expand New Orleans' bike network.
