Bike Network Planning Open House

Workshops Conclude This Week

NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans’ Office of Transportation, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, the City Planning Commission and our community partners, this week concludes a series of "open house" neighborhood workshops to engage residents about the upcoming plan to expand and improve the City’s bike network, also known as Moving New Orleans Bikes.

The open houses pick up tonight for residents of District C, with a meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Algiers Regional Library (3014 Holiday Drive). (Click here to view map.) Kristin Gisleson Palmer, City Councilmember for District C and chair of the Transportation Committee, is expected to attend.

You can view and download the flyer for tonight's meeting below.

These seven meetings, held April 8-18, will explain how the City plans to:

  • Create a community-inspired vision for the New Orleans bikeway network
  • Educate the public on the bikeway planning effort
  • Discuss the importance of safe and protected bikeway infrastructure and it’s benefit to all modes of traffic
  • Gather support for a rapid build-out of the bikeway network once planned

Here is the schedule for this week's meetings, which run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
