Traffic Advisory: River-Bound Lane of
Michoud Blvd.
Between Lourdes St. and Dwyer Rd.
NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans,
Department of Public Works’ construction contractor, Cycle Construction
Company, LLC, has re-routed river-bound traffic on Michoud Boulevard between Lourdes
Street and Dwyer Road. The detour is expected to last through the end of the year. Public
safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution
when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site.
The re-routing is necessary for
crews to begin replacing existing utilities on the river-bound lane of Michoud Boulevard between Lourdes Street and Dwyer Road. Crews have already completed roadway
reconstruction work on the lake-bound lane of Michoud Boulevard between Chef
Menteur Highway and Dwyer Road. Signage and traffic-control measures such as barrels
and fencing are on-site to direct drivers and pedestrians and keep people safe. They
should not be moved from their assigned locations.
This work is being done as part of
the Michoud Boulevard Reconstruction project, which is 70 percent complete. The overall project is scheduled to be completed in late 2018.
For questions and/or concerns about the project, please contact RoadWorkNOLA at 504.658.ROAD (7623) or send e-mail to roadwork@nola.gov.
