NOPD Searches for Subject in Fourth District Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating an aggravated assault with a firearm and shoplifting incident that occurred in the Fourth District.


The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 around 4:20 p.m. in the 3700 block of General Degaulle Drive.


The wanted subject, described as a black female, entered the business and created a disturbance.


The subject confronted the clerk about being followed in the store at which time the clerk advised the subject she could leave if she felt she was being followed.


The clerk proceeded to the front of the store where she was again confronted by the subject. During a verbal altercation, the subject removed a handgun from her waistband and pointed the weapon at the clerk.


The subject threatened to begin firing shots.


The clerk walked away from the subject. The subject placed the gun back into her waistband and verbally announced, “I’ll steal whatever I want out of here.”


The subject removed a box of candy from the shelf and left the location.
