NOPD Arrests Suspect for Criminal
Damage, Firearm Charges in Incident on Elizardi Boulevard
NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD has arrested Dwayne T.
Finch (DOB: 10-28-1998) in connection with an incident that occurred on May 8,
2018 in the 1600 block of Elizardi Boulevard.
At about
8:40 a.m., Fourth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the
area. During the incident, multiple occupied residences in the area sustained
criminal damage from bullet strikes.
Finch was positively identified as the perpetrator after his vehicle was
discovered at the scene with multiple bullet holes in it.
On May 28,
Finch turned himself in to Fourth District personnel and admitted to his
involvement in the incident.
Finch was
arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was
booked for felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated criminal damage to
property and illegal use of a weapon
