NEW ORLEANS – NOPD Second District officers got a new set of wheels to help patrol in the area.

Attorney Morris Bart presented two brand new police bicycles today (May 15) to NOPD Second District officers and senior leaders at his office through the COPS 2 organization.

These bicycles were generously donated to assist in patrolling local neighborhoods, events, including patrols when the station relocates to its new building in the 3400 block of Broadway Street. Police bicycles allow NOPD officers to be more visible on a personal level with the visitors and citizens in the district.

Since the late 1990s, Morris Bart has contributed to help keep the current NOPD Second District station suitable for the officers and staff members by renovating a number of rooms in the building that was in a state of repair. He has also made major donations including surveillance cameras for the police station through NOPD’s COPS 2 organization.
