Suspect Wanted for Business Burglary
NEW ORLEANS – The
NOPD is searching for Stephen West (DOB: 07/26/2000) who is wanted for his
involvement in a series of business burglaries.
Sixth District officers followed up on a business burglary
that was reported on Monday, (Oct. 23) in the 2400 block of Jackson Ave. The
reporting person told Sixth District police she and other staff members left
the locked and secured offices at the Saint Thomas Community Health Clinic at
about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, (Oct. 20). The individual returned to the location
at about 7 a.m. on Monday and noticed that someone entered one of the offices
at the location and removed a laptop from a staff member’s desk. The suspect
was caught on surveillance video. He is described as a heavy-set male, with short
dreadlocks, wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.
The second incident was reported at about at about 11:15
a.m. on Wednesday, (Oct. 25) at Mahalia Jackson Elementary School. The school’s
janitor told police when he arrived for his shift around 5:15 a.m. he noticed
that the wooden door on the second floor was broken and partially removed. He
also observed broken glass on the ground near the vending machine.
