Vehicle Taken in Armed Carjacking at St. Bernard Avenue
& Hope Street

ORLEANS – The NOPD is searching for a 1998 black, four-door Toyota Camry that was taken at the
intersection of St. Bernard Avenue and Hope Street during an armed carjacking.
The incident
happened on September 30, 2017. At about 4:45 a.m., the victim entered her
vehicle that was parked in the area. The victim told police she was then approached
by two black male suspects. One of the suspects then produced a black handgun and
demanded that the victim exit the vehicle.
The victim
told police the second suspect called her by name demanding that she exit the
vehicle. Once the victim complied, the perpetrators then fled southbound on St. Bernard Avenue.
The vehicle is described as having a Louisiana license plate bearing #YBT155.
