In Louisiana, 16 percent of adults do
not have health insurance, in addition to many children and residents who are
underinsured or do not have a vision component to their insurance plans. In the
United States, around 46.5 million households are not covered by a vision plan
and do not have employer access to vision insurance, leaving too many without
vision care and hindering their prospects in school and at work.
