On Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Baker Fire Department, the Baker Main Street Pilot Club gifted the families of Baker with brand new bicycle helmets and information on bicycle safety.
The families who attended stated that this event was helpful and appreciated. The Baker Fire Department were a tremendous help as firefighter Joseph Bryan and Captain Ronald Brady demonstrated how to properly fit the helmets on the children's heads, as well as how to adjust them accordingly. The Baker Main Street Pilot Club also handed out pamphlets for children Pre-K through 5th grade on bicycle safety.
Bicycle safety is very important considering that head injuries are at least 45% less likely to happen when a rider wears a helmet. Helmet safety also reduces the risk of face injuries by 27%. Children are also more likely to wear a helmet, themselves, if they see other kids who do.
We thank the Baker Main Street Pilot Club of Pilot International for taking the time to educate the citizens of Baker on bicycle safety.
