On Saturday, June 11, 2022, T&T Smokehouse Meats held their grand opening and ribbon cutting, welcoming a new business on Main Street.
The owners, Joseph and Engreck Butler, smiled wide as family, friends and customers came in through those double doors to celebrate and enjoy some barbeque.
The restaurant was lively as people saw the sign at the entrance of the shopping center and above head T&T Smokehouse Meats. Numerous people made their way inside to order some of those beautifully browned ribs with one of the various Southern side dishes.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, many leaders of the community had an encouraging word to share on behalf of the Butler family and their business. Michel Woods, President of the Baker Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Waites, Metro Councilwoman Chauna Banks, Representative Barbara Carpenter, Councilman Robert Young, Councilwoman Glenda Bryant, Councilwoman Brenda G. Jackson, Pastor Guevara Johnson and his wife Dr. Shannon Johnson each had their time to speak and pray over the business.
"We thank God for this glorious day and his blessings for this family and this new business. Thank you to the City of Baker and all those who helped to make this day possible."
Mr. and Mrs. Butler expressed their thanks for everyone's support on the warm day and after the ribbon was cut, welcomed everyone in as T&T Smokehouse Meats was officially opened.
"We give God glory and honor for allowing this to manifest and know that His hand is on us. We are excited to be here, to be a part of the Baker family, and are looking forward to a good turnout," stated Engreck Butler.
