On November 16, 2021, the Baker Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Fast Pace Urgent Care located at 902 Main Street.
Members of the community came out as part of Fast Pace Urgent Care's drive thru celebration as members of the Baker Chamber of Commerce, Councilmembers and City of Baker staff prepared for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Michel Woods, President of the Baker Chamber of Commerce, greeted and thanked all those in attendance as well as thanked Fast Pace for taking on the opportunity of investing and becoming a member of the City of Baker.
Councilwoman Rochelle Dunn thanked and welcomed Fast Pace and stated how much she appreciated them being part of the City of Baker.
"Urgent care facilities came through during the heart of the pandemic; a time when we couldn't easily go to the doctor's office or hospital. I'm so thankful to have another urgent care within our city to help our citizens," said Mayor Waites.
Asia Farlough, the regional marketing coordinator of the Louisiana branch, and Miosha Bailey, the Nurse Practitioner of Fast Pace, both stated that they are supper excited and looking forward to serving the citizens of Baker.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, all attendees were given goody bags, t-shirts, were entered into a raffle for a 50-inch TV, and took a tour of the clinic.
