NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS
City of Baker, Louisiana
In accordance with the Open Meetings Law at R.S. 42:26, et seq
The City of Baker will hold two public hearings regarding Baker City Park Improvements. City Park is located at 3325 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.
The first meeting is scheduled on the agenda during the City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 via telephone conference call – Dial In: 774-220-4000 – PIN: 22537.
The second meeting is scheduled on Thursday, September 2,2021 at 6:00 p.m. via zoom video & telephone conference - registration link is found at http://cityofbakerla.com/wp/economic-development/ under Public Meeting - City Park Improvements Registration
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain views on the community development needs of the
City of Baker and to discuss the submission of an application for funding under the State
of Louisiana Love Louisiana Outdoors Grant via Office of Community Development-Local Government Assistance (OCDLGA) CARES Act; HUD was allocated funding to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
The following items will be discussed at the hearing.
a) The amount of funds available for proposed community development;
b) The range of activities that may be undertaken, including the estimated amount proposed to be used for activities that will benefit persons of low and moderate income;
c) The plans of the City of Baker for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities assisted with such funds and the benefits to be provided by the (City/Parish) to persons actually displaced as a result of such activities; and
d) The City of Baker's prior performance of LCDBG programs funded by the State of Louisiana.
All citizens, particularly low and moderate income residents of slum and blighted areas, are encouraged to submit their views and proposals regarding community development and housing needs.
The City of Baker is offering a survey for interested residents to complete which is located at http://cityofbakerla.com/wp/economic-development/ under "City Park Improvements Survey".
Those citizens unable to attend this hearing may submit their views and proposals until
September 2, 2021 in writing or by email to: City of Baker, 3325 Groom Road, Baker, LA
70714 or by email to rbond@cityofbakerla.com. Please specify in the subject line of the email "City Park Improvements".
