Maintenance Crews Clear White's Bayou:
White's Bayou, an integral part of moving water in the greater Baker area, is part of the watershed comprised of Upper & Lower Cypress Bayou, the Baker Canal, Bayou Baton Rouge and White's Bayou.
White's Bayou, located at the border of Baker and unincorporated East Baton Rouge Parish is where both Brushy Bayou and Bozeman Creek discharge water during rain events. Therefore it is important that routine maintenance is performed so water may flow properly, thus aiding in the reduction of flooding events.
As we see in just a few of the photos a great deal of effort is underway and we are very happy to report this maintenance work, being undertaken with our partner East Baton Rouge Parish, is just one step in the overall plan to make Baker safer.
