The weather this past Tuesday was warm and inviting, allowing a group of friends to paint in Baker City Park.
These women chose to combat pandemic fatigue by painting images of a Black woman sitting, the perspective on her torso and crossed legs, and using her outfit to depict an important aspect to them. One young woman is painting her woman wearing a BLM t-shirt while another has hers wearing a Alpha Kappa Alpha t-shirt.
The smiles on these ladies faces are genuine as they relieve stress through art. The sun shines on their faces, their canvas, their creativity. These women understand that despite the state of the world, they can find peace in small acts of creativity that give them joy.
Let this be a hopeful reminder to all that we can find hope and peace in small everyday activities.
