President-elect Joe Biden has nominated Linda Thomas-Greenfield as the next U.S. Ambassador in the United Nations. With her experience as a foreign service officer in administrations, being an ambassador to Liberia, and five-years’ experience as the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield is the woman for the job to help Biden reestablish trust in the State Department. She has stated on her Twitter account and during a November 2018 TED Talk that she will continue to use kindness and compassion, as her mother taught her, throughout her career. The City of Baker congratulates Linda Thomas-Greenfield and stands behind in support. She is an influence to all the young leaders of Baker as she proves that, despite hardships or someone’s perspective, with kindness, compassion and hard work; any goal is obtainable.
