TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Nighttime Resurfacing Scheduled for U.S. 60 and U.S. 60X in Woodford County 

Roadway repairs begin Oct. 6 ahead of milling and paving operations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of upcoming nighttime roadway repairs, milling and paving operations on U.S. 60 (Lexington Road) in Woodford County and U.S. 60X (Frankfort Street/North Main Street/Lexington Road) in downtown Versailles, weather permitting. 

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6, crews will begin roadway repairs on both U.S. 60 and U.S. 60X in preparation for resurfacing operations. Work will take place nightly, and are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize traffic impacts during morning and evening commutes. 

During work hours, flagging operations and alternating lane closures will be in place, as necessary. Roadway repairs are expected to continue through Thursday, Oct. 8, weather permitting.  

U.S. 60 (Lexington Road) in Woodford County 

  • Nighttime milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin Thursday, Oct. 15.
  • Work will take place from the Bluegrass Parkway ramps extending east toward Lexington to the Woodford/Fayette County line (mile points 11.7 to 13.04).
  • Alternating lane closures will be in place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., to minimize traffic impacts during commute times.
  • Work is expected to take approximately one week, weather permitting.

U.S. 60X (Frankfort Street/North Main Street/Lexington Road) in Versailles 

  • Once work on U.S. 60 is completed, crews will move milling and paving operations to U.S. 60X through Versailles.
  • Work will extend from U.S. 60 along Lexington Street, North Main Street, and Frankfort Street (mile points 0.0 to 1.8).
  • Alternating lane closures will be in place nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., to minimize traffic impacts during commute times.
  • Work is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

Crews are expected to work Sunday through Friday nights. KYTC is working with the contractor to minimize traffic impacts for those traveling to and from local events and destinations on U.S. 60. The project is expected to continue through Friday, Nov. 6.  

All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
