TRAFFIC ALERT: U.S. 27 (Cynthiana Road) Closed in Bourbon County Following Crash

 

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet • District 7

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 26, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists that U.S. 27 (Cynthiana Road) in Bourbon County is currently blocked in both directions near mile point 2-3, approximately 3 miles north of Paris, following a commercial vehicle crash. 

The roadway is expected to remain closed overnight while cleanup operations are completed. 

Detours include:

  • Motorists traveling from Paris should use KY 1876 (Clay Kiser Road) to KY 353 (Russell Cave Road).
  • Motorists traveling from Cynthiana should use KY 1893 (Mt. Carmel Road) to KY 1940 (Ruddles Mill Road).
  • Commercial vehicles traveling in either direction should use KY 353 (Russell Cave Road) and US 460 (Georgetown Road) as an alternate route around the closure.

Motorists should use alternate routes during the closure. Updates will be provided as they become available.
