LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 31, 2026) – Construction for the Newtown Pike (KY 922) Widening project in Lexington will require a temporary partial intersection closure at Newtown Pike and Nandino Boulevard beginning Sunday night, August 2. Traffic on Nandino Boulevard will be maintained with one lane in each direction but shifted to one side. This will allow crews to demolish old pavement in preparation for repaving. The intersection is expected to return to its normal traffic pattern within 10 days.
Beginning Sunday evening at 7 p.m., contractors will close the southern side of the intersection (the side closest to New Circle Road). All traffic will shift to the northern side of the intersection until work is complete. The intersection will reopen on or about August 12.
