Editor’s Note: This release updates a previous advisory. Due to emergency flood recovery efforts, the start of this project was delayed. The project is now expected to begin Sunday, July 12, weather permitting.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 8, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a resurfacing project on U.S. 25 (Robert Martin Bypass) in Madison County is expected to begin Sunday, July 12.
The project extends along U.S. 25 (Robert Martin Bypass) from KY 52 (Irvine Road) at mile point 16.1 to just south of KY 1156 (Jacks Creek Road) at mile point 20.8.
The project includes:
- Milling and resurfacing the existing roadway.
- Construction of a second left-turn lane from U.S. 25 (Robert Martin Bypass) onto KY 52 (Irvine Road).
Lane closures will occur nightly between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The project is expected to be completed by August 31, 2026.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
