Motorists should continue using an alternate route
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 2, 2026) —The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the bridge on Tates Creek Road (KY 169) near Perkins/Ashcraft Road at mile point 11 in Madison County remains closed as a safety precaution due to recent flood damage. Following additional inspection, analysis and flood debris removal, crews determined that more in-depth repairs are necessary before the bridge can safely reopen to traffic.
Motorists should continue to use KY 1156 (Jacks Creek Road) as an alternate route while road repairs continue. Bridge repair plans are being developed which will determine the timeline to reopen the bridge.
Where roads and bridges are damaged or unsafe, KYTC crews have placed cones, barrels and barricades to protect the traveling public. For their own safety, motorists should never drive around barricades. Crews will continue working to make necessary repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
