TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled for I-75 Southbound Tonight and June 30

For traffic switch to extend merge lane; Expect delays 6:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 25, 2026) — Construction for the I-75 widening project from Paris Pike (US 68) to the Southern Split in Lexington will require temporary overnight lane closures on I-75 southbound tonight, Thursday, June 25 and Tuesday, June 30.

These lane closures are necessary for a traffic switch to be made on Tuesday, June 30, that will extend the merge area on SB 75 at mile marker 113. After June 30, motorists that routinely access 75 SB via N Broadway (Paris Pike) will have a longer acceleration lane to allow for easier merging.

Tonight, Thursday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m., the far-right lane of I-75 southbound will close (between mile markers 114-113). At 8:30 p.m., the two right lanes on I-75 southbound will close. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.

Additionally, on Tuesday, June 30, at 7 p.m., the far-right lane of I-75 southbound will close (MM 114 to 113). At 8:30 p.m., the two right lanes on I-75 southbound will close. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

After June 30, a traffic shift will occur and motorists that routinely access 75 SB via N Broadway (Paris Pike) will have a longer acceleration lane to allow for easier merging.
