All lanes expected to reopen during daytime hours beginning June 18
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 17, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of updated traffic impacts associated with the ongoing I-64 rehabilitation project in Fayette, Scott and Woodford counties. The project extends from mile point 64.8 to mile point 74.
Current westbound lane closures are expected to be removed by 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 18. Beginning Thursday, all lanes on I-64 eastbound and westbound are expected to remain open during daytime hours.
Alternating lane closures are scheduled to resume Sunday night, June 21, for resurfacing operations on the eastbound lanes of I-64. Nighttime lane closures are expected to be in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.
Once resurfacing work is completed on the eastbound lanes, contractors will move to the westbound lanes and begin nighttime alternating lane closures to complete remaining work.
The KY 341 (Midway Exit) westbound I-64 entrance ramp is expected to reopen next week, weather permitting.
The overall rehabilitation project is progressing and remains on track to be completed this fall.
Motorists should use extra caution and should watch for signage and personnel in the area.
