Cross drain installation planned April 23
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled road closure on KY 29 (High Bridge Road) in Jessamine County for cross drain installation.
KY 29 will be closed at mile point 1.69 on Thursday, April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists traveling northbound should use Handys Bend Road as an alternate route. There will be no alternate route available for southbound traffic at the closure location.
Emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the work zone as needed.
Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work zone. Message boards will be in place to alert the traveling public of the closure.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
