UPDATED: Lane Closures Scheduled on New Circle Road (KY 4) in Fayette County

Bridge deck repairs planned April 21-23

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 17, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled lane closures on KY 4 (New Circle Road) in Fayette County for routine pothole repairs on bridge decks.

Work is scheduled daily from Tuesday, April 21 through Thursday, April 23 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting. Work will take place at different locations along New Circle Road, with lane closures shifting each day as crews move between bridge locations.

Daily work locations include:

  • Tuesday, April 21 – mile point 18 (Lansdowne Drive overpass), eastbound outer loop; left (fast) lane closure
  • Wednesday, April 22 – mile point 14 (Richmond Road overpass), westbound inner loop; right (slow) lane closure
  • Thursday, April 23 – mile point 4 (U.S. 60 overpass), westbound inner loop; right (slow) lane closure

One lane will remain open at all times; however, motorists should expect delays.

Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work area.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
