KYTC District 7 personnel on alert
Crews and contractors will report as an on needed basis
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Month XX, 2025) – LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 28, 2025) – TheKentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises that District 7 crews and contractor will report for duty on as needed basis. The forecast predicts temperatures falling from the 60’s to the 20’s overnight. There are expected gusty winds of up to 40 miles per hour. Snow could follow afterwards.
Motorists should remember that as temperatures decline there is also the possibility of black ice. Black ice can form on previously treated asphalt and concrete. Ice develops on bridges, overpasses, and ramps prior to surface level roadways.
What to do if you see a downed power line:
- Report it to your local utility company.
- Do not try to clear it yourself.
- Steer clear and avoid anything touching downed lines, including vehicles or tree branches.
