KYTC District 7 personnel remain on duty
Crews and contractors worked overnight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 8, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises that District 7 crews and contractors worked overnight and continue to work today. They have been clearing shoulders, turn lanes, crossovers and ramps. Personnel have also been cleaning cross drains to assist and prevent flooding.
Temperatures that are extremely low can cause refreezing with wet pavement. Motorists should remember that as temperatures decline there is also the possibility of black ice. Black ice can form on previously treated asphalt and concrete. Ice develops on bridges, overpasses, and ramps prior to surface level roadways.
What to do if you see a downed power line:
- Report it to your local utility company.
- Do not try to clear it yourself.
- Steer clear and avoid anything touching downed lines, including vehicles or tree branches.
