Transportation Cabinet to Hold Public Meeting on Dec. 9 for KY 44 Roadway Improvements Project in Bullitt County
Citizens invited to provide input on enhancing safety and improving traffic flow
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 19, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will host a public meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9, to present preliminary designs for the KY 44 Roadway Improvements Project in Bullitt County.
The KY 44 Roadway Improvements Project focuses on enhancing safety and travel reliability, as well as improving traffic operations, for all roadway users along KY 44 from US 31E/150 (Bardstown Road) to the Spencer County Line.
The meeting will be an open-house event (no formal presentation) held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Christian Center (11829 Hwy 44 E, Mt. Washington, KY 40047). Those who are interested may drop in at any time to review the previously selected design, as well as recently developed alternatives, receive handouts containing project information, and complete a survey. Representatives from KYTC and the engineering design consultant will be in attendance to answer questions.
Following the public meeting, an online survey will be available through Monday, Jan. 12, 2026. For more information about the study and to take the survey, please visit the project website. After considering public feedback, the final design phase will begin in early 2026.
All written comments will become part of the official meeting record. Once compiled, the meeting record and supporting documentation will be made available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Transportation Cabinet, Office of Legal Services, Transportation Office Building (200 Mero St, Frankfort, KY 40622), or via kytc.openrecords@ky.gov.
