Natcher Bridge Project Pausing for the Winter

All lanes expected to be open by the end of the week

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (November 19, 2025) With winter approaching, the contractor handling a cable maintenance project on the U.S. 231 William H. Natcher Bridge in Daviess County is in the process of halting operations until spring.

Crews began removing equipment today, and expect to have all lanes reopened by the end of the week.

The project will resume in the spring of 2026 when the threat of winter weather has passed.

The William H. Natcher Bridge is a cable-stay structure that opened in 2002, linking eastern Daviess County in Kentucky to southern Spencer County in Indiana. Around 8,400 vehicles cross the bridge daily.
