Cave-in-Rock Ferry Is Now Open
PADUCAH, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2025) – The Cave-In-Rock Ferry has reopened as of 6 p.m. today, Oct. 21, following a temporary closure due to high winds.
The ferry's regular operating schedule is from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The last run from the Illinois side is at 9:40 p.m.; last run from the Kentucky side is at 9:50 p.m.
The Cave-In-Rock Ferry is operated by an independent contractor with joint funding from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Illinois Department of Transportation through a ferry authority.
